Tomasito Cruz

This Havana born virtuoso was raised in Pinar del Rio Cuba, where he attended the Vocational School of Arts. At the young age of 14 he was admitted to the prestigious  National school of Art of Havana, as a child prodigy of the country; where he studied: piano, trombone, vocals and percussion. Met fame at the early age of 19, when he was recruited  by a top  band in Cuba. He experienced the privilege few had of touring the world, landing him in Paris, France for his first International tour. This turned his world upside down, changed his dreams and expanded his music reach.  After landing in many cities around the world, he chose to stay in Miami, FL in the one and only time their band had been finally allowed to play in U.S. territory.

In the course of more than two decades, Tomasito Cruz has authored three International best seller books of music  entitled “The Tomas Cruz Conga Method, Volumes I, II and III;  Holds five Grammy nominations and  three Grammy winning recordings: “Rumba Palace”- Arturo Sandoval,  “Son del Alma” – Willy Chirino, “No es lo mismo”- Alejandro Sanz  ;“Candela”, his first CD as singer / songwriter / producer, got nominated in Spain as best CD of Cuban music of the year in 2010; His second Production “La Clave Cubana” is an exclusive and limited edition masterpiece, created for a luxury boutique cigar company ; Has toured and shared stage with the biggest names in the industry like, Celia Cruz, George Benson, Israel Lopez “Cachao”, Arturo Sandoval, Kool and the Gang, Tito Puente, Al Jarreau, Gladys Knight, Herbie Hancock, Kenny Garret, Dave Hollands, Eddie Palmieri, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Ignacio Berroga, Michael Brecker ,Armando Manzanero, Alicia Keys, Andy Garcia and many more. One thing is clear in this Master percussionist/Singer/songwriter/producer’s career, the best is yet to come.
